Fire Prevention

One of the highest priorites of the Argo Fire and Rescue Service is preventing fires and injuries before they start. We have on-going preventive programs that include twice a year business fire inspections, smoke detector programs, and CPR certification. We also provide blood pressure screenings at Station 1 daily. Please review the information below and click on the pictures for more in-depth knowledge.

In the event of a fire, properly installed and maintained smoke alarms will provide an early warning alarm to your household. This alarm could save your own life and those of your loved ones by providing the chance to escape. Argo Fire Department will install smoke detectors for any citizen that needs them. If you need assistance please call Station 1. PLEASE CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO THE LEFT FOR MORE VALUABLE INFORMATION.

fire extinguisher_use

Every home should have a current, properly rated fire extinguisher. You may click on the picture to the left for more information. Everyone who posses a fire extinguisher should know how to properly use it. If you have any questions concerning proper type or need instruction on use, please contact Station 1 for help.

Heart attacks can happen suddenly, with most medical emergencies occurring in a persons home or other place of recreation. You cant count on Fire/EMS to always be nearby when a cardiac emergency occurs. CPR buys time for the victim until Fire/EMS arrives and doubles their survival chances. You may click the picture to the left for a free guide and resource, but it cannot replace real CPR training. If you would like more information on CPR certification, please contact: Lt. Chris Slavich at Station 1 @ 352-2109.
