Lightning Fire


On Labor Day morning, around 1 a.m., Argo Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a residence in the Brookstone subdivision on a structure fire. The first engine from Argo Fire & Rescue (Engine 953) arrived on scene to find a residential structure with smoke and flames showing. Two Firefighters from engine 953 made an interior attack and were able to make a quick knock down and extinguish the fire. The second responding engine from Argo Fire & Rescue arrived on scene and started to assist with fire ground operations. Assistance from Springville Fire & Rescue was also received through the mutual automatic aid agreements between the two departments. In total 13 firefighters responded to this incident. At this time it is believed that this fire was caused by a lightning strike, which caused significant damage to the roof and attic of the structure.
